What is a Seamless Pipe?
Seamless pipes are derived from solid steel that is in sheet or bar form and is formed into a solid round shape known as “billets” which are then heated and cast over a form such as a piercing rod to create a hollow tube or shell. These kinds of pipes are known for their ability to withstand pressure more efficiently in comparison to other methods of pipe manufacturing processes, as well as being fast and cost-effective. It is also worth mentioning the development of super duplex stainless steel containing manganese. In Germany, high alloy cast steel containing 25% Cr, 6% Mn, 6% Ni, 3% Mo, 2% w and ~ 0.5% N and Cu is developed. The solubility of nitrogen in these two steels is improved by adding manganese. Due to the high alloy content and relatively low structural stability, brittle phases are easy to precipitate
